THRICE IS NICE AS COOGS GET READY FOR DISTRICT

Clark’s Varsity teams both fared well with 3rd place finishes at the NISD meet on Saturday, October 10th. Twenty five teams covered the course at Hardin Athletic Complex on a cool, overcast morning. Shantel Swift (12:31) was 2nd in the 2 mile girls race and Glynnis Meade was 4th (12:36). Rounding out the team scoring were Mel Schwartz (13:31), Shaneve Swift (13:36), and Katherine Ritchie (13:42). The boys team were led by 5th/6th place David Scorcelletti (16:41) and Austin Wells (16:42) for the 3 mile course. Jose Sierra (17:15), Ryan Pavlich (17:29), and Jim Wells (18:21) were next in for the Cougars. Pictures of the Varsity and JV races can be found at http://clarkcrosscountry2009.shutterfly.com/.
The JV teams will be at the Central Catholic Relays on Wednesday, and Varsity will travel to Seguin on Saturday. Countdown to District – 3 weeks!

The Clark Varsity Cross Country teams headed back to a much dryer Brooks City Base course this week for the Ricardo Romo (UTSA) meet. They were entered in the Gold Division, which is open to all schools, not just 5A, which makes for a very competitive field.

The Clark Cougar Cross Country team headed to Brooks City Base on Saturday for the NEISD meet. The rain held off until the middle of the Varsity boys race, and from then on, the course was a muddy mess. Congrats to the Varsity boys for finishing 7th out of 29 schools, only a few points behind O’Connor for the 3 mile course! The team was led by David Scorcelletti, 16:55 and Jose Sierra, 17:05, followed by James Leopold, 17:43, Austin Wells, 17:50, Ryan Pavlich, 17:52, John Bodkin, 18:47 and Devon Gonzales, 18:48.
