BASKETBALL ALL DISTRICT HONORS
by Fan4Clark on Apr.09, 2012, under Basketball
Clark senior point guard Adam Perez was named District 27-5A MVP for the 2011-12 basketball season. Perez led the Cougars to the Regional Finals, and was also named 1st Team All District. Senior center John Chapman was named to the All District 2nd Team.
As dominating as they were on the court the Cougars are even more so in the classroom. Perez and Chapman are joined by seniors Austin Conlin, Cal Harr, Carter Josephs and Troy Ogletree on the 1st Team All Academic Team for NISD and Jacob Huston was named to the 2nd Team All Academic. That grand total of 7 outstanding student athletes outpaced all other NISD teams.
The Clark girls also received accolades for their work on the court and in the classroom. Junior Kristen Lye was named to the 1st Team All District squad and Junior Donna Matthews was named 2nd Team All District. The best news is clearly that both Lye and Matthews will return next year!
Clark also placed four senior girls on the NISD All Academic Teams. Sara Baum, Lyndsay Lyda and Ashley Salinas were named to the 1st Team and Hannah Garcia to the 2nd Team.
Another proud moment in Clark, Texas! Congratulations to everyone!

On the girls side, Donna Matthews led all scorers with 9 points as Clark easily defeated the Huskies 44-27. The win gives the Cougars a 19-12 record. A Clark win in their final game combined with Jay losses in their next two games keeps the Cougars’ playoff hopes alive.
Blair Socha and Chloe Treviño each had a goal to lead the Clark girls soccer team over Warren 2-1. On the boys side, a 5-2 blowout of the Warriors led by Carlos Sepulveda’s hat trick gave the boys an easy win.
