8 in a row. 4 by 10. 10 hits.  Any way you look at the numbers, they add up to a 10-2 District 28-5A record, 2nd in District and #6 in the city.  The Cougars walloped the” John Jays” 13-3 (an original term from the greeat guys at Clark Texas Football Club).  The Cougars jumped on them early with a 6-0 lead after two innings.  Carl O’Neal once again went the distance for the win.  Several players hit including Jonathon Fargnoli who started a double play in the fourth, tripled in the same inning and then finished the Mustangs off with a double in the fifth, ending the game as the ten run rule was reached.  Next game is a big one against district leading O’Connor on Tuesday.

COUGARS ON FIRE; SMOKE STEVENS

Nothing but heat

Nothing but heat

Earlier this week, Carl O’Neal was named Express News Player of the Week.  After the Clark Cougars took on #6 Stevens, they’ll be calling him The Fireman.  Nothing but heat crossed the plate as O’Neal torched the Falcons for a shutout and the rest of the team hit like h-e-double-toothpicks, lighting them up for ten runs.  The final: 10-0 Clark over Stevens.  The win gives Clark a solid number two position in district, smokin’ their way towards the playoffs.  In the past four Clark wins, they’ve outscored their opponents 45-4.  THAT’S HOT!  Congrats!
