Several hundred Clark varsity athletes, coaches, parents and friends attended the Clark Athletic Booster Club annual All Sports Banquet. Each athlete was recognized with the exception of the Water Polo team, who could not attend due to their presence being requested in Dallas where they are competing for a STATE title (Good Luck!). The highlight of the evening was the awarding of scholarships by the booster club to college-bound seniors. Each received a $1000 scholarship. Also recognized was Booster club President Janet Whisenhunt for her efforts and Coach Kevin Hamilton, who retired from coaching after 24 years at Clark to accept a position in the district office.

WEEKLY RANKINGS/AWARDS
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Feb.03, 2009, under Basketball, Soccer
The Clark Men’s varsity basketball team maintained a #4 ranking in this week’s Express News rankings but fell out of the top twenty state rankings for the first time this year. Their 24-5/10-2 district record has them in 2nd place in the district behind #3 Express News/#11 in the state Stevens. In soccer, the men’s varsity also stayed at #9 in the Express News men’s soccer rankings. Currently 3rd, a win vs. Warren would put them in 1st in a tight district race. Finally, congratulations to senior Brianna Tammaro for her “game ball” mention in the Express News for her outstanding defense over the past four games. The Lady Cougars soccer team is also in a tight district race, currently 3rd, and has not allowed a goal in the past four games.
