COUGARS TAKE RATTLERS TO BRINK
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Nov.24, 2010, under Basketball
The Clark Cougars boys basketball team took on the #5 in the state Reagan Rattlers but fell just shy of the upset, 50-52. The Cougars, who looked sharp against the highly-rated team, stayed close through the first two quarters and even led at the end of three but a 3-point frenzy by Reagan’s Max Yon put the Cougars down by 10 with six minutes left in the game. With the score 51-41 in favor of the Rattlers, Jacob Palacios sunk a 3-point shot and made a crucial free throw to pull the Cougars within one with seconds left in the game. Reagan converted on a free throw on the other end and the Cougars last chance three pointer rimmed out and Reagan won the non-district contest.
The game was a great early test for the Cougars and based on the outcome, it looks to be another exciting year for players and fans.
