#6 ranking in Express News

The Clark Cougars varsity volleyball team rocketed to #6 on the first week of this season’s Express News rankings.  Unranked previous to season play, an outstanding effort by the ladies, including wins over #4 Antonian and a 2nd place finish in the NISD tournament, earned them the spot.  Brandeis dropped from #7 to #10 and O’Connor dropped out of the poll.

The Cougars face #1 Johnson tomorrow evening at Clark (hint: short drive to come and see this team play) but first face Alamo Heights in our home gym (hint:  see hint #1).

COUGAR VOLLEYBALL SMOKIN’ HOT

by on Aug.12, 2011, under Volleyball

Cougars refuse to lose

The Antonian Apaches, last year’s TAPPS state champion and this year’s Express News #6 pick, looked to give the Cougars volleyball team a real challenge in the NISD tournament this weekend.  Like Clark’s three previous opponents, the Cougar’s dismissed them with relative ease and remained undefeated in five games this season.

The Clark Cougars have now beaten Churchill, MacArthur (twice) Alice and Antonian and have only recorded two losses in 14 matches.  In two matches against Alice, the Cougars only allowed eight total points.

Catch this talented team this weekend on Saturday as the NISD tournament continues at 10:30am at O’Connor as they look to continue their winning ways against Round Rock.
