The team is leaving Clark at 4:45, so you’re invited to line the driveway going out of Clark. Meet in the parking lot, at 4:35, near the team soccer signs/bus loop, and bring posters, banners and fans! Come show your support for this awesome team and group of young ladies! Spread the word about sendoff.

SOFTBALL OUTLASTS HOLMES FOR WIN

The Clark Softball team edged out the Holmes Huskies to keep their playoff hopes alive with a 4-2 victory. Up 3-0 early in the 1st, the Cougars had to withstand a Husky comeback in the 7th. Christina Rodriguez went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Henessey Soto got the win.
CLARK JV SOFTBALL STUFFS HOLMES

The Clark JV Softball team beat Holmes 11-2. Kim Regino (Stryker) struck out 8 batters, walking only 2, Lindsay Lyda hit for a double, and the entire team showed good bat speed with over 10 hits. Way to go Ladies!

While ClarkCougarSports.com appreciates the times that someone at the Express News recognizes Clark High School and their athletes and readily reports such rare events, is there a bias against the school in Clark, Texas? Probably not but here’s an interesting one – in the final boys soccer rankings Clark is not ranked but Highlands High School is #10. Highlands finished 3rd in their district BEHIND second place Corpus Christi King – who Clark WHIPPED 4-0. We’re just saying…
BASEBALL HITS IT BIG!

Clark baseball scored a big win, shutting out Taft 10-0. The game was called after 5 innings with Vincent Salazar pitching all five and picking up the win. Joseph Ybarra and Braden Mattson each hit homeruns.

CLARK SOCCER RIDES MUSTANGS TO 2nd ROUND

Both the boy’s and girl’s Clark Cougar soccer teams advance to the second round of playoffs with wins over Corpus Christi King. The men took care of business first, pasting the ponies with a 4-0 defeat. Following the men’s game at Farris, the ladies had an early goal in each half to secure the win. Great job, Cougars!
COUGARS BEAT BACK BUTTONS

Clark baseball won its non-district game against Central Catholic 8-5 at Northside field. Ryan Skowronski started on the mound for the Cougars and Tyler Reinagel finished the game. Braden Mattson and Trey Doebbler each had homeruns.
Clark resumes district play on March 24th against Taft.

Cougars in Playoffs
The Clark boy’s soccer team opens the playoffs with a bi-district match up against Corpus Christi King on Monday, March 23rd at 5:00 pm at Farris Stadium. The King Mustangs have a record of 13-5-2. The winner advances to play the winner of the Lee – Austin Akins game.
The Cougars closed out district play on a six game win streak. GO COOGS!
CLARK TRACK RUNS TO GOLD/SILVER

At the Mule Relays at Alamo Heights the men’s and ladies track teams had great results. The men’s team took 1st place, including setting a new meet record in the 800 relay by sprinters Ryan Flournoy, Ryan Jones, Joe Nichols and Joe Vasquez. The ladies team took 2nd place overall, with outstanding performances by Shaneve Swift, Glynnis Meade and the girls 1600m relay team (Luisa Garza, Shaneve Swift, Shantel Swift and Jasmine Robertson). Wise takes control
Clark’s 7th ranked girl’s soccer team will host Corpus Christi King at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, at Farris Stadium. The game marks the bi-district round of the 2009 playoffs. The winner will face the winner of the Bastrop – Reagan game, also set for early next week.
The Cougars will warm up for the opening round with a scrimmage against New Braunfels on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at the Northside soccer fields.
