DISTRICT REALIGNMENTS TO BE TELEVISED

In a state obsessed with High School athletics (not that there’s anything wrong with that), FoxSports Southwest will televise the realignment announcements live next Monday. While its effect should have little impact on Clark athletics, it still might be fun to watch what’s going on at the UIL and what districts will look like for the next two years.
Here is the official press release from Fox:
FOX Sports Southwest will televise a special edition of HIGH SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT on Monday, Feb. 1 at 9:00 AM CT to announce the University Interscholastic League’s biennial reclassification and realignment.
UIL Director Dr. Charles Breithaupt, UIL Policy Director Dr. Mark Cousins, and UIL Athletic Director Cliff Odenwald join host Craig Way to unveil the new alignments that will serve as football and basketball districts for the next two school years in Texas.
Every two years the UIL realigns its districts based on enrollment figures submitted to the governing body by its member schools.
Breithaupt will introduce the new districts and provide an overview of the realignment process, while Cousins and Odenwald discuss how the UIL staff determined the new assignments.
The 30-minute program also will be streamed on FoxSportsSouthwest.com.
