Clark added three goals in the second half to come away with a whopping 5-1 victory. It’s a significant win with the Raiders just ahead of Clark in the district standings. As usual the Cougars spread the scoring around with goals from Blair Socha, Alyssa Jacobs, Monique Rempel, Chloe Trevino and Lexi Platz. CLARK BOYS FIGHT TO A DRAW WITH HOLMES
by Fan4Clark on Feb.18, 2013, under Soccer
Fifth ranked Clark tied tenth ranked Holmes Friday at Northside. Many thanks to the family and friends who toughed the cold winds and freeway noise to cheer on our teams (men & women)! The play on the field was aggressive, with the ref raising a yellow card against a Holmes player. Clark had many shots on goal and the Holmes keeper should be credited with keeping the score at zero. In return, Holmes had a few interesting shots but Clark’s keeper only had one serious ball to contend with. Youngsters Jake Peterson and Enrique Aleman played with heart and sophomores Tristan Cavazo and Matt Jacobs played well, moving the ball at critical moments. Garrett Berry subbed in and did an awesome job in his position. While Coach Rule was understandably frustrated at the half (due to being scoreless), the team passed the ball well and kept up the pressure in spite of playing into the wind during the second half. Clark’s next game is against Warren, again at Northside #2 at 5:00pm Tuesday.

#5 CLARK DRAWS WITH MARSHALL
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Feb.12, 2013, under Soccer
The Clark men’s team (ranked #5 by the SA Express News) played a tight game against Marshall resulting in a 0-0 game. Both teams concentrated on defensive play. Clark’s keeper, Preston Campbell, made numerous good saves while the defensive line continually cleared the ball. While the score doesn’t reflect it, the game intensified in the last few minutes while each team attempted to score before time ran out. Marshall’s starting line up was comprised primarily of seniors; Clark’s, mostly comprised of juniors and sophomores, making the end result an achievement all by itself.

GIRLS BASKETBALL POSTS PLAYOFF WIN
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Feb.11, 2013, under Basketball
Congratulations to the Clark Cougars girls varsity basketball team for winning their first round playoff game vs. Corpus Christi Carroll. The Cougars, using the same high paced offense that put them in the playoffs, won 81-47. Mercedes Orozco hung 18 on Carroll while Kirsten Kramer added another 15 points. D’onna Matthews and Kristen Lye added 10 each.
A 24-8 1st qtr. set the pace for the game and the Coogs never looked back.
WAY TO GO COOGS!
COUGARS ONE SHORT IN LOSS
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Feb.03, 2013, under Soccer
Despite a strong performance on the field, Clark lost 2-1 against Boerne Champion in non- district play. Boerne scored 2 goals in the first half, one being a penalty kick. Clark held them in the second half and put one in the net off of a corner. This goal was a team effort as the ball was put in play and then passed several times before #18, Chris Pantaleon put it in the net. After this, Clark picked up the pace and had several close shots on goal but the Boerne Champion keeper managed to snag every ball. Better luck next time, Cougars!
