LADY COOGS SOCCER SHOOT OUT

In Clark’s final game of the Woodlands soccer tournament, which gathers top teams from the state, the Lady Cougars came close but lost in a shootout to Deer Park.  Macy Ellis, Gabrielle Santorio and Alyssa Bloom each had goals.

DOMINATION IN DISTRICT 28-5A

The Men’s Varsity Basketball team continued its roll through the district 28-5A schedule with a 75-39 beatdown of Holmes.

LADIES VARSITY SOCCER SHUTOUT

After starting the season with a win in the Woodlands tournament, day two was not as kind as the Cougars were bested by Belton 0-4.  Their last game of the weekend is Saturday before heading home to take on Reagan on Monday.

LADY COOGS POST A “W”

Congratulations to the Ladies Varsity Basketball team.  Starting the second half of district games, they win one against Holmes 37-31.  Next game is against Brandeis.

FIRST SHOOTOUT, FIRST WIN

The Men’s Varsity Soccer team began the season with an exciting victory over Arlington Heights in the Alamo Heights soccer tournament.  Tied 3-3 after regulation, they went on to  a 2-1 advantge in a shootout, giving them the first season victory of the year.  Like the ladies, their record now an official 1-0.  Tournament play resumes tomorrow.

WOMEN’S SOCCER START SEASON WITH WIN

Participating in an always competitive Woodlands Tournament, the Clark Women’s Varsity Soccer team started the 2009 campaign with a victory over Katy Taylor 2-1.  Macy Ellis and Gabrielle Santorio each scored goals in the game.  They continue play today against Belton at 11am.  Their record – an obvious 1-0!

COUGAR SOCCER TOP RANKED!

The Express News has ranked BOTH the Men’s and Women’s Varsity programs in the top ten in their preseason rankings.  The men’s team is ranked 5th in the preseason ranking and the ladies are right behind them with a #6 ranking.  Both teams are top-ranked in district 28-5A.  Congratulations and good luck this year!

COUGARS EXTEND WIN STREAK ON COURT

Tuesday night the Men’s Varsity Basketball team put another one in the win column with a 51-45 victory over the Taft Raiders.  That makes it 7 in a row for the #4 team in the city and they remain undefeated in district play.

LADY COOGS VS. TAFT

Down 11 points in the 4th quarter, the Lady Cougars came close but could only cut the final score to 3 in a loss to Taft.  51-54 was the final score.  The Lady Cougars try to get back in the win column Friday night against the Holmes Huskies.

MEN’S VARSITY SOCCER SCRIMMAGE

At Blossom Athletic Center last night, the 2009 version of the Clark Cougars took on Churchill in a scrimmage but fell short 1-3.  In scrimmages last week, the Cougars defeated Westlake 4-1,  tied Boerne Champion 1-1, and lost to Smithson Valley 1-3.  The Men’s Varsity kick off the season on this coming Friday in the Alamo Heights Tournament.
