The Clark Cougars and Pflugerville Panthers will mix it up Friday evening at Hays HS for the 5A area playoffs in men’s basketball.  Game time is 6pm. The Panthers defeated San Antonio MacArthur to advance while our Cougars destroyed Highlands to make the next round.  Good Luck, Coogs!

C. Sepulveda

An early goal by freshman forward Carlos Sepulveda was negated in the second half as the Rams tied the men’s JV soccer team 1-1.  The Cougars lost to Marshall earlier this year in district play.

The #8 Marshall Rams came into tonight’s match with no district losses but that all changed after Francisco Garza scored twice and Juan Munoz had a goal for Clark, beating the Rams 3-2.  The Cougars record is now 6-5-1 in district play and tightens the 28-5A race.

#23 Brianna Tammarro

Despite goals from Brianna Tammarro and Rebekah Richards, the ladies varsity soccer team lost to the Rams 3-2.  It’s the first district loss this season by the Cougars whose district record now stands at 6-1-4.

Lady Cougar Gabrielle Santorio is recognized this week by the Express News for her outstanding play the past few games.  The Lady Cougars will need more of that as they take on Marshall in a key district matchup.  Congratulations, Gabrielle.

#33 Chris Blake

The men’s varsity basketball team crushed the Highland Owls in a bi-district playoff game at the UTSA Convocation Center, 84-57.  The next playoff game will pit the Clark Cougars against either Pflugerville or SA MacArthur.  Chris Blake had 4 MONSTER dunks in the game.

The Clark boy’s soccer team lost to Stevens on Saturday 3-1. The Cougar’s lone goal came from Francisco Garza. Clark is now 5-5-1 in district and 7-7-1 overall.

The Clark girl’s soccer team continued their winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Stevens on Saturday. The Lady Cougars have won their last three games and improved their district record to 6-0-4 and 7-2-6 overall.  Alyssa Bloom had two goals against Stevens and Gabrielle Santorio added one.

The Clark Cougar JV soccer girls and boys teams took on the Stevens Falcons and some gusty winds as well today at Clark and emerged victorious in both matches. The ladies shut out Stevens 7-0 with goals from Katy Gerber, Madison Donzis, Orlea Miller, Brittney Tenney and Ariel Schmid. The boys won 2-1 with goals from Alan Caballero and Juan Ospina.

The Clark Cougars men’s freshman “A” basketball team won their final game of the year 48-47 over Stevens.  The win gives them a 15-1 record in district and an 18-3 record overall.  Congratulations to Coach Kirby and his team.  The final boxscore looked like this:

The ladies freshman basketball team also had a stellar season with an 18-3 record.  Congratulation to them as well and the future looks bright for Clark Cougar basketball.
