Tennis Beats Brandeis

by on Sep.05, 2014, under Spring Sports, Tennis

Cougar tennis easily handled Brandeis in its first district team tennis match up. Clark’s biggest obstacles were the weather and the power, or rather sudden lack thereof.  The games started late due to the unexpected rainy weather, and then were interrupted toward the end of play when the lights at NTC abruptly went off. The Cougars kept their cool and played on for a late night win.

Football and track coach Bobby Allen has been chosen to be an extra in the film “My All American,” which is being shot largely here in San Antonio. The film is about the too short life of Freddie Steinmark, who was diagnosed with bone cancer six days after helping the Texas Longhorns beat the Arkansas Razorbacks in 1969 when the two teams were ranked number one and number two respectively.  Coach Allen will play an Arkansas coach in the picture.
