UIL REALIGNS; SAME OL’ FOR CLARK
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Feb.01, 2010, under Basketball, Football
The bi-annual district realignments were released by the UIL today and for Clark, it’s more of the same. All Northside high schools remain in the same district for football and basketball, with the exception of the newest high school, Brennan, which will open as a 4A school in the fall of this year.
You will, however, have to buy new shirts, etc. from the Booster Club due to a number “realignment”. The current district Clark is in, District 28, will now be District 27. The same old foes (O’Connor, Stevens, Warren, Brandeis, Holmes, Jay, Taft and Marshall) remain the same.
No other major changes appear for San Antonio area teams although NEISD realigned slightly, allowing teams like Madison and Reagan to add an additional non-district contest. Smithson Valley dropped to 4A. All Austin schools (including Westlake) moved out of the region and into Region 2. The complete lists can be found at the UIL Website.

DISTRICT REALIGNMENTS TO BE TELEVISED
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Jan.26, 2010, under Basketball, Football
In a state obsessed with High School athletics (not that there’s anything wrong with that), FoxSports Southwest will televise the realignment announcements live next Monday. While its effect should have little impact on Clark athletics, it still might be fun to watch what’s going on at the UIL and what districts will look like for the next two years.
Here is the official press release from Fox: (continue reading…)

by envisionfilmvideo.com on Jan.13, 2010, under Football
Congratulations to Greg Castro and Robert Chapman, Clark Cougar varsity football players, for post-season honors from 5ATexasFootball.com. Both were named third team All State, a high honor considering they were two of only five San Antonio area players even on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd All State Teams combined.
PADRON LEAVES FOR TEXAS LUTHERAN
by Fan4Clark on Jan.09, 2010, under Alumni, Football
O’Connor Head Football Coach and longtime Clark assistant Danny Padron has announced he’ll be leaving the high school ranks to take the head coaching position at Texas Lutheran College in Seguin. Padron will take his son, Andy, along as an assistant. Andy is a former Clark quarterback. Padron has also added Cuero coach Mark Reeve to his TLU staff. Reeve was an assistant at Clark for nine years with Padron during the 1980’s.
Padron was the head baseball coach at Clark when the school opened in 1978 and became football offensive coordinator in 1981. He spent 20 years at Clark sandwiched around a brief stint at Judson before leaving to become head football coach and athletic director at O’Connor.
For more information.
The official announcement will be made Monday.
There are now three head coaching vacancies in NISD at Clark, O’Connor and Brennan (opening in August 2010).
CHAPMAN TROPHY SHELF FILLING UP

Another award has rolled in for the Clark Cougars’ All State center Robert Chapman. This time it’s on the Rivals.com “The Old Coach” Class 5a All State Team. Robert is one of only two players on the list from the Austin/San Antonio area (insert sarcastic look here). This is just another award in a list of superlatives for the senior headed to the next level.
