The Coogs started the week ranked number seven by the EN as they stood poised to play number one ranked O’Connor. Clark lost to the Panthers after a valiant effort on Wednesday.
This still puts Clark at number two in the district and the Coogs retain their play off berth.

Disappointment Against O’Connor

Young Athlete of the Week

William Young was named Athlete of the Week by The Echo, a neighborhood newspaper, in their October 15th edition for his performance in the Marshall game.

Volleyball Steady at #7 Beats Brandeis

On Friday, October 10th, varsity volleyball played against Brandeis went an exciting 5 with Clark landing on top:
First game 25 – 23 Cougars
Second game 25-13 Brandeis
Third game 25-24 Cougars
Fourth game 25-23 Brandeis
Fifth game 15-8 Cougars
Among the outstanding Clark players were Megan Pattison (jr) who led with 17 kills, Madison Woods (sr) with 25 digs, and
Ariana Flores (sr) with 31 assists.
The win helped Clark cement its position as #7 in the EN rankings.

Volleyball Ranked Seventh

The lady Coogs cracked the top ten rankings in volleyball this week going from unranked to number seven. Clark is 25-9 so far this year.

Clark Claws Holmes

The football Cougars dominated Holmes in last night’s game at Gus Stadium, winning 35-13. Clark came out strong with 14 points in the first quarter, with TDs from Trenton Ford and Matt Miller and extra points from Colby Lorenz. The second quarter the trend continued with 14 more points, this time from William Young and Trenton Ford with Lorenz again scoring the extra points. The third quarter Clark scored with another TD from Young and kick by Lorenz. Holmes attempted a comeback with seven points. The fourth quarter saw Clark quiet, with Holmes making one TD.

Still angry over last year’s defeat at the hands of the Cougars, the loss that kept them out of the play offs, Stevens roared back to win over Clark 51-14.
Cross Country Picks up the Pace

Seizing the opportunity of cool weather, Clark Cross Country brought the heat at Saturday’s SAISD Invitational meet. Ordinarily a hot and dusty meet, the conditions were ripe for victory. Not a team to drop the ball, the Cougars led the pack in all races, with the Varsity Boys placing third overall, taking home some solid hardware. Furthermore, congratulations to Senior Eric Padilla and Junior Natalie Hoffman for placing third and eighth individually in the Varsity Boys and Girls races.
