Signing Day 2015

National Signing Day is the day most college sports programs sign their chosen athletes. Today, February 4th, 2015, saw five Clark athletes sign on to their chosen college athletic programs.

Cavazos Player of the Week Again

Senior soccer player Tristan Cavazos , a midfielder, was named the Express News player of the week for a second time this month after scoring the game winning goals in the second ranked Coogs victories over fifth ranked Reagan and sixth ranked Southwest.

 

Wow!

 

Coach Rule can’t remember a player he has coached who has been named player of the week twice in one season, let alone twice in one month.

Boys Basketball Shoots On

BucchiThe Clark boys varsity basketball team played 3 district games last week. They
beat Marshall 54-48, but fell to Holmes 54-57 and Brennan 48-64. They continue
district play on Tuesday Jan 27 against Jay, 5:00pm at Paul Taylor.

Swim Second in District

Led by record breaker Reagan Nentwich’s 100m fly, Coog swimmers came in second in the 27-6A meet over the weekend.  Nentwich was voted the top female swimmer at the meet after she won her event in 55.59, besting the previous record for the 100m fly set in 2002.

Soccer!!! Strong Start

The Coogs are ranked number two by the Express News this week!

 

Senior Tristan Cavazos was named player of the week by the paper thanks to his five goals and two assists when the Cougars went 3-0 at The Woodlands tournament.

Boys Hoopsters Win in District Play

Austin LongThe Clark boys varsity basketball team pulled out two close district wins last week. They beat Taft on Wednesday 46-41 and Jay on Saturday 55-50. They will be off during exams and resume play on Saturday, January 17th, against Marshall at 12:30 pm at Paul Taylor.

Women’s Basketball Update

Still winning.

The Lady Cougars defeated the Jay Mustangs on Friday, January 9th,  75-55.

The Cougars are now 22-2! Way to go Ladies!

The Coogs will play Marshall on January 16th at 6:00 pm.

Boys BBall News

The Clark varsity boys basketball team travelled to Laredo on Tuesday and beat
Laredo United South 53 to 46. On Saturday, they started district play against
Warren. Unfortunately, Warren hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to win the game 62
to 60. The Coogs play again Wednesday, January 7th,  at 6:30 against Taft at Paul Taylor .
