CLARK MEN #14 IN TEXAS, OVERWHELM BRANDEIS

bballThe latest TABC rankings are out and Clark has moved up to a #14 ranking in Texas.  With a game High 37 points, Jordan Brickman led the Clark Men’s Varsity basketball team to a undeniable victory over Brandeis 94-57. That makes it 9 wins in a row for the team and keeps them at the top of the district race with a perfect record.  Friday’s showdown against Stevens will go a long way in determining who wins district 28-5A.  It should be a barn burner and good luck, guys.

LADY COOGS WIN AGAIN

The Clark women’s varsity basketball team defeated Brandeis in overtime, 51-48. Tied at 44 at the end of regulation, Clark was able to pull away in overtime to post the win. Next up is Stevens on Saturday, Jan. 17. Way to go Lady Coogs!

MEN’S SOCCER TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS

With victories over Arlington Heights (4-3 SO), Flour Bluff (4-3 SO) and Alamo Heights (3-2), the Men’s Varsity Soccer team took home the championship trophy from the Alamo Heights soccer tournament.  Against Flour Bluff, Austin Maher, Jonathon Lawson and Francisco Garza each scored goals.  In the championship game, golas were scored by Lawson, Garza and Luis Hernandez. There is one more non-district game before district play begins.

LADY COOGS SOCCER SHOOT OUT

In Clark’s final game of the Woodlands soccer tournament, which gathers top teams from the state, the Lady Cougars came close but lost in a shootout to Deer Park.  Macy Ellis, Gabrielle Santorio and Alyssa Bloom each had goals.

DOMINATION IN DISTRICT 28-5A

The Men’s Varsity Basketball team continued its roll through the district 28-5A schedule with a 75-39 beatdown of Holmes.

LADIES VARSITY SOCCER SHUTOUT

After starting the season with a win in the Woodlands tournament, day two was not as kind as the Cougars were bested by Belton 0-4.  Their last game of the weekend is Saturday before heading home to take on Reagan on Monday.

LADY COOGS POST A “W”

Congratulations to the Ladies Varsity Basketball team.  Starting the second half of district games, they win one against Holmes 37-31.  Next game is against Brandeis.

FIRST SHOOTOUT, FIRST WIN

The Men’s Varsity Soccer team began the season with an exciting victory over Arlington Heights in the Alamo Heights soccer tournament.  Tied 3-3 after regulation, they went on to  a 2-1 advantge in a shootout, giving them the first season victory of the year.  Like the ladies, their record now an official 1-0.  Tournament play resumes tomorrow.

ST. MARY’S CATCHES CLARK PLAYER

It’ll be her last season at Clark this year but softball catcher/third baseman Christina Rodriguez knows where she’ll be playing next year.  Christina recently signed to play as a St. Mary’s Rattler next year.  Congratulations to another college bound athlete from CHS.  Read more here.
