At the Southwest track meet, Clark runners and field athletes showed well against some of the top teams in the region.  Congratulations to the following:

The Clark Cougars men’s freshman “A” basketball team won their final game of the year 48-47 over Stevens.  The win gives them a 15-1 record in district and an 18-3 record overall.  Congratulations to Coach Kirby and his team.  The final boxscore looked like this:

The ladies freshman basketball team also had a stellar season with an 18-3 record.  Congratulation to them as well and the future looks bright for Clark Cougar basketball.

The Clark Cougars men’s varsity basketball team heads into the playoffs despite a tough loss to District 28-5A champion Stevens, 76-67.  Clark could never quite gain the lead in the hard fought battle.  Coach Kevin Hamilton coached his last regular season game for Clark.  He will  take an assistant athletic director’s job next year.  Elhad Emerllahu led the Clark offense in scoring.  Clark will next face Highlands in the first round of playoffs.

#24 Gabrielle Santorio

Backed by another outstanding effort in the goal and a strong defense, the Lady Cougars varsity soccer team defeated Brandeis 1-0 in district play.  Fab freshman Gabrielle Santorio placed another ball in the goal to give Clark its fifth district win.

The men’s varsity soccer team, with less than two minutes left in the game, let Brandeis sneak one in and lost to the Broncos 0-1.  The Cougars record is 5-3-1 in district following the defeat.

Clark vs. Stevens

The men’s varsity basketball team popped back into the TABC/Tex Preps Basketball Magazine’s list this week at #18.  The regular season ends tonight against district leader Stevens.  Basketball fans know this is a game not to miss!
