Coach Kevin Hamilton and '08-'09 Cougars

A last second shot by the Pflugerville Panthers ended the men’s varsity basketball season in the Texas 5A area playoffs.  The Clark Cougars had a great run and a special thanks to the seniors as well as Head Coach Kevin Hamilton for his dedication to Clark and the countless students he’s taught and guided in his 24 years at CHS.

Macy Ellis had a hat trick, Rebekah Richards, Robin Pennington, Gabrielle Santorio and Krysta Maples each had one goal and the Lady Cougars played heads up defense to defeat John Jay 7-0.  GK Amy Ross notched her ninth shutout of the season.

MILLER IN STATE FINAL

C. MillerClark swimmer Chelsea Miller’s time of 1:05:38 in the prelims is a ticket to the finals at the Texas 5A State swim meet.  Chelsea competed in the 100 yd. breast stroke event.

COUGARS TIE BUT WIN

Mattson greeted after HR

Seven runs, including a solo home run by sophomore Braden Mattson in the 4th inning, were not enough to beat Central Catholic in the NISD Tournament.  The final score was 7-7, because of game time limit rules in the tournament.  The Cougars, based on tournament rules, got the win.  Several pitchers took the mound for Clark.

BIG CATS TO TANGLE IN SAN MARCOS

The Clark Cougars and Pflugerville Panthers will mix it up Friday evening at Hays HS for the 5A area playoffs in men’s basketball.  Game time is 6pm. For those who can’t make it, you can send your Cougar spirit and listen on the radio at KEDA-AM 1540 or on the internet at www.tsrnsports.com. The Panthers defeated San Antonio MacArthur to advance while our Cougars destroyed Highlands to make the next round.  Good Luck, Coogs!

JV SOCCER TIES MARSHALL

An early goal by freshman forward Carlos Sepulveda was negated in the second half as the Rams tied the men’s JV soccer team 1-1.  The Cougars lost to Marshall earlier this year in district play.

SOFTBALL SHINES AGAINST BRANDEIS

The Clark Cougars softball team doubled up on Brandeis and won 4-2.  Henesey Soto got the win and Christina Rodriguez hit a solo home run in the fifth to seal the victory.

MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATS DISTRICT LEADER

The #8 Marshall Rams came into tonight’s match with no district losses but that all changed after Francisco Garza scored twice and Juan Munoz had a goal for Clark, beating the Rams 3-2.  The Cougars record is now 6-5-1 in district play and tightens the 28-5A race.

LADY COOGS SOCCER LOSES TO MARSHALL

Despite goals from Brianna Tammarro and Rebekah Richards, the ladies varsity soccer team lost to the Rams 3-2.  It’s the first district loss this season by the Cougars whose district record now stands at 6-1-4.

BASEBALL SCORES TWO TDs, UNDEFEATED IN DISTRICT

The Clark varsity baseball team opened district competition against Brandeis and put it to the Broncos, 14-0.  Joseph Ybarra hit two home runs and Carl O’Neal and Ryan Skowronski both took the mound for the Cougars in the victory.
