CLARK JV SOFTBALL STUFFS HOLMES

The Clark JV Softball team beat Holmes 11-2. Kim Regino (Stryker) struck out 8 batters, walking only 2, Lindsay Lyda hit for a double, and the entire team showed good bat speed with over 10 hits. Way to go Ladies!

While ClarkCougarSports.com appreciates the times that someone at the Express News recognizes Clark High School and their athletes and readily reports such rare events, is there a bias against the school in Clark, Texas? Probably not but here’s an interesting one – in the final boys soccer rankings Clark is not ranked but Highlands High School is #10. CLARK SOCCER RIDES MUSTANGS TO 2nd ROUND

Both the boy’s and girl’s Clark Cougar soccer teams advance to the second round of playoffs with wins over Corpus Christi King. The men took care of business first, pasting the ponies with a 4-0 defeat. Following the men’s game at Farris, the ladies had an early goal in each half to secure the win. Great job, Cougars!
CLARK TRACK RUNS TO GOLD/SILVER

At the Mule Relays at Alamo Heights the men’s and ladies track teams had great results. The men’s team took 1st place, including setting a new meet record in the 800 relay by sprinters Ryan Flournoy, Ryan Jones, Joe Nichols and Joe Vasquez. The ladies team took 2nd place overall, with outstanding performances by Shaneve Swift, Glynnis Meade and the girls 1600m relay team (Luisa Garza, Shaneve Swift, Shantel Swift and Jasmine Robertson). PLAYOFF BOUND MEN’S SOCCER BLANKS HOLMES

The men’s varsity soccer Cougars pasted the Holmes Huskies in the final regular season game 7-0. Francisco Garza pulled a hat trick, Placide Buduri scored two, and Roger Trevino and Esteban Rodriguez each had a goal in the win. Next up, playoffs. Congratulations!
LADY COOGS CRUSH HUSKIES

In their last regular season game, seniors Shelby Henderson, Shelby Wise, Brianna Tammaro, Rebekah Richards, Sarah Klenke, Leslie Pool and manager Brad Winer helped lead the Cougars to a 9-0 blowout over Holmes. Gabrielle Santorio, Leslie Pool, Sarah Klenke, Brianna Tammaro, and Krista Maples scored goals as well as a rare hat trick by Rebekah Richards. Amy Ross started in goal and Macy Ellis played goalie in the second half. Next stop for the ladies – playoffs!! Congratulations!
COUGAR BASEBALL POUNDS WARREN

It began with 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning as Cougar batting came alive and continued for 7 innings as the Clark Cougars defeated Warren 11-9. Sophomore Braden Mattson homered for the 2nd day in a row and pitcher Vincent Salazar went all 7 innings for the complete win.
LADIES SOCCER #7 IN CITY

The Clark Cougars ladies soccer team moved up the ladder this week to #7 in the Express News high school rankings. Gabrielle Santorio was also mentioned for her 17 goals and 15 assists and Amy Ross received recognition for her 12 shutouts in the goal and goals against average, one of the best in the city.
LADIES JV SOCCER ENDS WITH WIN

The Clark Cougars ladies JV soccer team finished the season shutting Holmes out of the goal 4-0. Katy Gerber and Dawn Janysek each had two goals for the Cougars. That win closes the season for the Lady Cougars at a very respectable 9-2-5 record.
