Congratulations to Hunter Gathright who scored an even par 108 in the 27 hole Joe Balander Invitational at Jimmy Clay Golf Course. Tied with two others, Hunter won in the playoff.

Despite 11 hits and 13 runs, the girls JV softball team tied Brandeis 13-13.

But it was the way they did it that we’ll remember. Taking on the #2 team in the country in the 2nd round of the playoffs could be daunting. Not to our girls. They gave ’em all they wanted, taking them to two overtimes and then to a shootout where a close shot wasn’t close enough. The final was a loss but hold your head high, ladies. A great season and a great game. Congratulations for a season worth watching.

2009 Clark Top Cats

The 2009 Top Cat Spring Show takes place April 3rd at 7:00pm.  It’s an evening of jazz, hip hop, modern and lyrical dance including a live and silent auction with great items.  Check with any Top Cat for ticket information and support these ladies who work so hard.

Clark vs. Lee

The men’s varsity soccer team came out fighting against the #2 Lee Volunteers but the ball didn’t bounce their way. The result was a 2-0 loss in the area playoff round. It was an outstanding effort by the Cougars.  Congratulations on a great season and a hard fought game.

Jordan Brickman, a varsity basketball player who helped lead the Cougars into the second round of the playoffs, will be playing in the 8th Annual Tomatillos Lone Star All Star game. Brickman, who is headed to Navy following graduation, will be playing with other local seniors at the Alamo Convocation Center at 6:30pm on Saturday.

Congratulations to Clark senior vollyballer Ann Drewry. She was named to the Sports Imports/Volleyball magazine “Fab 50” team. She will be featured in the April issue of the publication. Anna currently is on the varsity Track & Field team. Following graduation, Anna is headed to Purdue to play for the Boilermakers.

Good luck to the men’s soccer team, who take on the #2 Lee Volunteers tonight for the Area playoff title. Game time is 5pm at Farris. Show up and let’s give them our support! Go Coogs!

OK, Clark fans, here’s your chance to step up.  The #7 in the city Clark Cougars will be taking on the #2 in the nation Reagan Rattlers Friday for the Area playoff title.  The team is leaving Clark at 4:45, so you’re invited to line the driveway going out of Clark. Meet in the parking lot, at 4:35, near the team soccer signs/bus loop, and bring posters, banners and fans!  Come show your support for this awesome team and group of young ladies! Spread the word about sendoff.

The Clark Softball team edged out the Holmes Huskies to keep their playoff hopes alive with a 4-2 victory.  Up 3-0 early in the 1st, the Cougars had to withstand a Husky comeback in the 7th. Christina Rodriguez went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Henessey Soto got the win.
