COUGARS RIDE BRONCOS TO VICTORY
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Dec.15, 2010, under Basketball
Junior Adam Perez scored 16 points, including two three pointers and 8 of his points in the 4th quarter, to lead the Clark Cougars in a 59-52 win against the brandies broncos. Senior Kyle Rutledge and Senior Jacob Palacios added 10 each.
The Cougars led after each quarter. Brandies (yes, this website spells it that way because…well, it’s funny) trailed by as many as 14 during a majority of the game. The win was the opening district game for the Cougars who are ranked #5 in San Antonio.

COOGS BUST BRONCOS
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Dec.15, 2010, under Basketball
The girls varsity basketball team took to the hardwood against the brandies broncos and the result was a 62-59 victory. The Cougars record is now 2-1 in district play.
The ponies played well in the first half but the Cougars adjusted and poured it on in the third and fourth quarters, outscoring brandies by ten points in the final period for the victory.
Kristen Lye led Clark with 12 points but had plenty of help with Hannah Gulley and Melanie Schwartz adding 9 each, and Ashley Salinas and Donna Matthews sinking 8 more each.
Way to go COOGS!
REFUSE TO LOSE COOGS GROUND ROCKETS
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Dec.11, 2010, under Basketball
For the second time this season, the Clark Cougars varsity boys basketball team has defeated a state ranked team. The Judson Rockets, ranked #22 by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, found out the hard way that the Cougars are a team on the rise. Clark won 46-44 in an overtime thriller.
The Rockets looked like they would take off with a win in the first quarter. Pinpoint shooting by Judson and Cougar misses gave Judson an early 21-11 lead. The Cougars continued to fight but at the half the deficit was no closer, with Judson taking a 29-18 lead into the locker room. The 3rd quarter was more of the same and going into the final period, Clark still trailed the Rockets 35-25.
In the 4th quarter, however, the Cougars defensive pressure and tough offensive hustle gave Clark a chance. The defense allowed only three Judson points while the offense scored thirteen, none more important than a clutch three pointer by Adam Perez to send the game into overtime.
In the OT period, the Cougars took the lead for the first time and never gave it back to the Rockets. An Ansley Benjamin putback and Adam Perez’s steal late in OT sealed the win. (continue reading…)
COUGARS GET RAMMED
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Dec.11, 2010, under Basketball
The Clark Cougars girls varsity basketball team exploded to a 15-4 1st quarter lead, then imploded, losing to Marshall 53-47 in district play. A fast paced, high energy Cougar squad allowed the Rams only two points until the final minutes of the quarter but the Rams held the Cougars to only 6 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarter each.
In the 4th quarter, the Cougars found their inside game from the 1st quarter but fell short for the win. Kristen Lye pounded the Rams for 14 points and Hannah Gulley supplied another 12. The Cougars now stand at 6-11 and 1-1 in District 27-5A.

by envisionfilmvideo.com on Dec.06, 2010, under Basketball
The Clark Cougars girls varsity basketball team had a good weekend in Austin, winning two but also dropping two at the Austin Bowie Tournament this past weekend.
The Cougars dominated in their first two outings, whipping Ausitn Bowie 52-42. Kristen Lye had 17 points in the game. A 53-20 pasting of Austin McCallum followed. Games against San Marcos and Leander, however, turned up in the loss column.
Next up for Clark is district play with the opener against Taft at Paul Taylor.
