Miller in WAC Championships in SA

2010 Clark graduate Chelsea Miller’s first ever Western Athletic Conference Championship swim meet will be in San Antonio, at Palo Alto Pool, starting Wednesday Feb 23rd, and going through Saturday, Feb 26th.  This will be an exciting swim meet, and the Boise State Broncos hope to repeat as WAC champs!  Here’s a link to more information about the meet:  http://www.wacsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=10100&ATCLID=204843076

The Miller family is extending an invitation to attend and would love to see as many people as possible come and cheer on Chelsea and the rest of the Broncos at the meet.  “I know Chelsea would be thrilled to see friendly faces and a “home team” crowd”, says Chelsea’s mom, Laura, and adds, “She’s had a great first season swimming in college, and has always swam extremely fast in that pool.  This will be the last WAC meet in San Antonio–since they are moving to the Mountain West Conference next year.”
Good luck Chelsea and this may be the only time we cheer for Broncos…Go (former) Coog!

SWIMMERS SUCCEED AT DISTRICT

by on Jan.26, 2011, under Swimming and Diving

Clark Seniors lead team to 2nd and 3rd place wins

The Clark Cougars endured a very long day on Saturday January 22nd and succeeded in bringing home a lot of top places!  From warm-ups that began at 7:30 am until the last finals race,  which began at 8:25 pm,  Clark held strong with their eyes on the prize.
The Clark women’s squad, comprised of only 12 members,  combined sheer guts, persistence and stamina to bring home the District 3rd place award.
Clark men, who outnumber the women  2:1,  had  depth in all  strokes and races but faced an onslaught of very talented  O’Connor, Marshall and brandies men.  The Men’s squad left the pool that night with a well earned  2nd place District 27-5A trophy.
Top finalists from Districts are back in the water  this week  preparing for  UIL  Region  VII-5A   on Feb. 4th and 5th  at the Josh Davis Natatorium.  Prelims begin at 9:30am on Friday the 4th and Finals begin at 9:30am on Saturday the 5th.

Emily Socks it to them

Emily captured 4th place in the Womens’ division, Tyler walked away with 5th place Mens’ honors and Alex did extraordinarily well as a first time, freshman diver at a large Championship meet.

Great work, Cougars!
