POWDER PUFF ’11 – SENIORS VICTORIOUS; CHEERLEADERS STILL UGLY

Girls just want to have fun

The Senior girls dominated the Juniors in this year’s annual Powder Puff game, three TD’s to one.  And despite all their efforts, the cheerleaders for this year still needed to shave and should not consider careers in high fashion. And get a tan.

Oh, and the 2011 varsity football schedule is posted on the calendar at the right.

BOYS RELAY SETS NEW RECORD – AGAIN!

For the second time in as many meets, the Clark Cougar boys 4x100m relay team (Travis Cooke, Brandon Yates, Malcolm Eatman, and Brian Socha) set a new Clark record at the NEISD Relays. Their time of 42.27 beat the previous record, which they set this weekend in the SAISD meet (42.37).  Prior to that, the record was 42.50 set in 2005 by Adam Sauer, Brandon Mills, Ross Vale and Jerrell Wilkerson.

Austin Wells also broke the 1600m record at the South San meet on March 4th.  He ran a 4:25.43 which broke the old record held by Jesse Mader set in 2000 with a time of 4:27.06.
Several other Cougars also did well at the NEISD Relays.  (continue reading…)

GOLF ALUM GETS VICTORY

CLARK TRACK RUNS THE ALAMO

Swift running propels Coogs

The Clark Track team competed and showed well at the SAISD Invitational at Alamo Stadium. The boys team placed 3rd overall with points earned by:  Brian Socha (100m), Travis Cooke (200m), Ryan Pavlich (800m), Austin Wells (3200m), Kyle Rutledge (High Jump), James Kueber (Shot Put and Discus), and the relay teams (4×100, 4×200, 4×400).

The girls team placed 8th with Shantel Swift earning points in the Triple Jump and 200m, and Rebekah Washington in the High Jump, and the Girls 4×100 relay team.

Austin Wells (1600m) and Shantel Swift (triple jump) qualified for the Texas Relays.

BASEBALL STARTS 2ND HALF WITH WIN

Hot bats beat Rams

Clark Baseball won their 9th district game beating Marshall 10-9 in 7 tough innings of play.  The Rams and Cougars came out hitting, tied 1-1 after the first inning.  Ram bats stayed hot in the next two innings, scoring three more runs.  In the bottom of the 4th, Clark bats woke up with 5 hits, including a 3-run home run by Hunter McFall, ending the inning Clark 5-Marshall 4.

Marshall responded in the 5th inning, scoring twice.  5 runs by Clark ended the inning, Clark 10 – Marshall 6. (continue reading…)

CLARK WINS CATFIGHT; 1st IN DISTRICT

Clark baseball defeated O’Connor 5-3 in extra innings. This puts Clark in first place in district heading into the second half of the season.

O’Connor took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd, but Clark came back in the top of the 3rd with a score by Jason Cervantes. Neither team scored in the 4th inning, but when Clark came up to bat in the 5th, Ed Moore hit a double to deep center field and scored on a sacrifice fly by Hunter McFall, and the inning ended with the score Clark 2, O’Connor 1.

In the 7th inning, Devin Haley drew a walk, was advanced to 2nd on a sacrifice by Robert Martin and scored when Ryan Skowronski hit a single. Clark went into the bottom of the 7th inning with the lead, 3-1. O’Connor responded with two home runs to even the score and send the game to extra innings. (continue reading…)

BASEBALL SCOLDS PUPPIES, IN TIE FOR 1st

After last week’s losses to Stevens and Johnson, Cougar baseball came out to play, defeating the Holmes Huskies in 4 1/2 innings, 16-3.  Ryan Skowronski took the mound for the Cougars, pitching the first 3 innings of the game.  He gave up 4 hits, with 3 runs scored.  At the bottom of the 3rd, the score was Clark 4, Holmes 3 but Cougar bats exploded, scoring 9 runs.  (continue reading…)

NO NFL; NO PROBLEM. FOOTBALL AT CLARK!

Seniors win(?) in 2010

It’s time for the annual Seniors vs. Juniors Powder Puff Football game!  This year, the game’s a bit early – Monday, April 11, 2011 so there’s not much time to get registered to play, to coach & to cheer!  This annual event is a good way to enjoy the springtime weather while watching our Srs and Jrs battle it out on the football field.  All proceeds from the game go to Project Graduation 2011 – a drug and alcohol free party open to all 2011 Clark Graduates!   Registration to play, coach or cheer at the 2011 Powder Puff game will be Monday, March 21 – Friday, March 25 during lunch hours outside the cafeteria.  For players, the registration is a low $20 which includes a commemorative t-shirt, and for coaches and cheerleaders, the registration is $15, which also includes the commemorative t-shirt.

Tickets to the game will be available at the game for just $5 AND this includes the 2011 Powder Puff Program!  What a steal!  You can pick up the forms during your lunch hour this coming week, or simply download the forms here.

So, come out to watch the girls get their football on and support Project Graduation 2011!
