Cougars play well, fall short

In the district opener for both teams, #6 ranked Brandeis defeated the Cougars 3-1.  In Game 1, Clark fell behind 13-18 but stiffened up to tie the game at 20.  Brandeis ended up winning 22-25 but the momentum helped Clark win Game 2.  The teams traded points until Clark pulled away at 10-6.  The Cougars would hold the lead until the Broncos tied it at 22 each.  Brandeis briefly led 22-23 but a determined Cougar team battled back to win 25-23.  Game 3 was just as close with Brandeis taking the game 26-24 and the final game was just as tough with Clark losing 21-25.  The team now heads to pearland for the Nike Tournament – a 76 team showcase tournament with the best teams in the state in pool play.  Good luck!
