BASEBALL HAS BLAST AGAINST STEVENS
by Fan4Clark on Apr.15, 2011, under Baseball
Thursday night, Clark defeated Stevens 6-2 to remain in 1st place in District and is now assured of at least a share of the District Championship. The Falcons jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning – but those were the last runs that Clark allowed. In the 2nd inning, Clark bats responded. Matt Cohen started off the inning with a single. Chris Werland moved Cohen to 2nd on a sacrifice bunt. Robert Martin stepped into the batters box and with a 1 ball, 2 strike count, hit a home run over the left field fence – scoring himself and Cohen. Next up was Ed Moore who hit a blooper between the pitcher and 2nd baseman and he beat out the throw to 1st base. (continue reading…)

WATER POLO STATE-BOUND, LED BY COACH OF THE YEAR
by Fan4Clark on Apr.11, 2011, under Water Polo
On Saturday, April 9th, both the boys and girls polo teams took to the pool in the Regional Championships. Men and women played excellent games (each squad playing 3 grueling matches in less than 24 hours) as they fought strong competition. In the end, the Clark Lady Cougars would fall to Alamo Heights 8-3 and the Clark men would narrowly miss overtime opportunity against Brandeis in a 6-5 Championship game.
As the second place team in the Region, Clark advances to Houston on April 15th and 16th for TISCA State Championships.
Congratulations to Women’s All Region 1st team:
Melanie Macha, Jessica Rourke and Coral Crouch, and to 2nd team: Marina Gonzalez.
For the men, Derek Poirier and Jeremy Kustoff have been named to 1st team, Joseph Jaime to 2nd team and Andrew Ulcak to All Region 3rd team. Great job, Clark Cougars!
Clark swimmers and parents extend hearty congratulations to Coach Tony Plummer, All Region Co-Coach of the Year!
POWDER PUFF ’11 – SENIORS VICTORIOUS; CHEERLEADERS STILL UGLY
by envisionfilmvideo.com on Apr.11, 2011, under Football
The Senior girls dominated the Juniors in this year’s annual Powder Puff game, three TD’s to one. And despite all their efforts, the cheerleaders for this year still needed to shave and should not consider careers in high fashion. And get a tan.
Oh, and the 2011 varsity football schedule is posted on the calendar at the right.
Good luck SENIORS!
